Programs

There are more than 1.6 million people incarcerated in prisons in the United States, and over 600,000 people make the difficult transition from prisons to the community each year. For many of them, there are many challenges involved in their transition. Most women returning from prisons are often ill-prepared and unmarketable which makes their transition back to the community fraught with challenges. With a vision to end mass incarceration of woman and girls, ABHM have designed our programs to assist women and girls in reacclimatizing to society. Understanding that there is no one size fits all, we have customized and tailored our programs to fit the individual needs of each woman and girls that we serve.

Collaborations

Collaboration is a part of our essence, and can be seen by our numerous partnership and collaborations with Consortiums, Coalitions and Task Teams. We believe that we can build on the core competencies we each bring to the table to generate a more widespread and sustainable impact. Not only do we actively collaborate with all of our partners, but we train and build the capacity of those on the ground to share our knowledge and skills to provide opportunities to others.

To this end we have collaborated with outside Educators, Life Coaches, Spiritual Counselors and Mentors who have amassed a wealth of knowledge to help facilitate some of our programs.
